This post is honest because of our commitment to helping our consumers (YOU!) better understand the natural ingredients used in our skincare 🌿
Recent confusion about the use of ‘SLS’ in our BABY WASH and BODY WASH has reminded us of the importance to educate (because knowledge is power!). So here we go...
SLS can mistakenly be short for two completely different ingredients.
One is Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (most commonly known as ‘SLS’) and the other is Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate (and must not be confused with the other). Our products contain the latter!
While 'SLS' is known as a good cleaning agent, it’s a skin irritant. But, the Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate used in our range is a natural amino acid found in just about every type of biological material from animals to plants, and is commonly derived (like ours) from coconut oil.
We include this ingredient because it’s a natural cleansing and foaming agent. It’s very mild, but also very effective. We hope that by sharing this sort of ingredient information you can feel confident in the safety and sustainability of our skincare products.
